2 Chronicles 16
Meet the heroes of 2 Chronicles
Commentary
In 2 Chronicles 16, we read about King Asa of Judah and his reign. Asa was a righteous king who followed the Lord and sought to do what was right in His eyes. He removed the idols from the land and sought to lead the people in the ways of the Lord. However, despite his efforts, Asa was not able to keep the people from turning away from the Lord. When the King of Aram attacked Judah, Asa sought help from the King of Israel instead of relying on the Lord. This displeased the Lord and He sent a prophet to rebuke Asa for his lack of faith. Asa responded to the rebuke by humbling himself and seeking the Lord’s help. He prayed and the Lord answered his prayer, sending an angel to defeat the King of Aram. Asa was then able to restore peace and prosperity to Judah. This chapter serves as a reminder to us that we must always rely on the Lord and trust in Him. We must not turn away from Him and seek help from other sources. We must humble ourselves and seek His help in all things.
